Sharon Melton Fine Art

Sharon Melton has loved art for as long as she can remember however it wasn’t until later in her life that she was able to begin that journey. Her art is primarily focused on realism or her representation of her reality, and her creations continue to evolve with time. She explores the fusion of Representational art and Abstraction, to express her vision and ever-changing voice.  She loves realism and mostly paints wildlife and landscapes. Painting has always been her primary focus, but she continues to dabble and explore many mediums. Her primary medium is oil on linen, Her goal is to be able to express her voice and convey feelings, with a simple stroke of her brush. She strives to evoke or provoke a feeling in the viewer by use of subject, color, technique or atmosphere. Her subject matter varies from people, wildlife, landscapes and many things in between. She sees everyday as a learning experience,  exploring a new horizon in art and ways to create another moment to last. I would say Sharon Melton’s art tends to mark a moment of time, an event or emotion, a mood or place; it’s an expression of her, her voice, and it documents her, her life.

Sharon accepts commissions upon request.

It's Summer

Of the four seasons, my favorite has to be summer. The sun shining its warmth on my face and the rich colors it brings forth, both cool and warm. The landscapes with beautiful skies lend to perfect paintings. It's beach time and I love smelling the salt and listening to the waves crash on the shoreline. The tiptoeing of birds and the evening thunderstorms create lasting moments and they all encompass what summer is to me. My work has been focused on these precious moments  of wonder. Painting all the feelings, colors, thoughts, views and experiences on canvas to make them everlasting in time, depicting that perfect moment.
As I work my brush letting it flow freely but with purpose across my canvas I dramatize the subject to express my voice through my eye and hand. The lights and darks bouncing here and there capturing the essence of the moment.  My summer is here and there are many moments I want to share.
